The GCS Award has been a key component of the ISC conference since the foundation of its sponsor, the Gauss Centre for Supercomputing.
The winner of the GCS Award is selected through a well defined process by an independend award committee which currently is chaired by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael M. Resch of HLRS. The winner receives a cash prize of 5,000 Euros, courtesy of GCS, and is publicly introduced at the opening session of the annual ISC conference.
